BOTANICAL KEYS
TO THE METALLIC KINGDOM:
Live Presentation and Q&A, November 18, 2026, 6:30-9:00pm EST
Throughout the vast 2000+ year history of alchemy, it is the metallic kingdom that is most famously featured. Yet, despite the popularity and breadth of the subject, it is also one of the most complex and confusing topics. Texts are written in a coded, and sometimes even deliberately misleading fashion. The many authors on the subject often disagree with one another. Secrets required for success most often never make it to print, transmitted only from mouth to ear, restricting access and leaving much room for misinterpretation and resultant errors.
So how else may the developing alchemist seek the closely guarded and obfuscated truths of this ancient art? Could the answers to the alchemical question be discovered outside of alchemical texts and human guidance? Yes, and the source is practically everywhere: the plants, our teachers, and our alchemical elders who have been doing this work long before humans even existed.
The plants not only teach us about metallic alchemy through their mirrored biological processes, but they also provide us with many physical keys, which allow us entry into the tightly locked inner garden of the metallic kingdom. Because our bodies are nourished by minerals and metals that we consume from plant sources, or through animal foods which were fed by plants at some point in the food chain, plants genuinely form an indispensable bridge between the inorganic and organic.
In this class we will in particular explore how a "wet path" of Alchemy mirrors biological processes and endogenous chemicals of plants, leading to the catalyzation of unique organic compounds, effectively "drawing blood from a stone".
We will also explore various tools afforded to us by the Vegetable Kingdom, which allow as passage into the tightly closed gates of metals, minerals and gemstones in the form of wet and dry menstruums. These menstrua not only open the materia metallica, but actually create various oils, spirits and salts which are compatible with our human constitution, creating potable medicines from often toxic or at least indigestible base materials.
Join us on Wednesday, November 18th, for a live 2-hour online presentation on this topic, followed by a Q&A session with Daniel. All participants will receive a recording of the class, as well as a digital written summary and photos.
